What is the Caro Kann?
The Caro-Kann is considered one of the most solid defenses against e4. However, if played right, it can be a deadly weapon. In some positions we quickly can equalize by playing quick pawn advances, like e5 and c5. In other cases, we even can grab a pawn in the center, and hold onto it for the rest of the game, winning with a slow and steady approach. Overall, c6 is a flexible and strategic way to battle against e4, and lands in familiar territory with simple yet effective plans!
